Job summary

Atrium Health Union is seeking a Part-time Nursing Assistant for the IU Surgical Care unit. This 24-hour-per-week role supports patient care, including ADLs and routine vital signs, with opportunities to perform ECG and venipuncture under supervision.

Night shift compensation ranges from $19.80 to $29.70 per hour, with benefits eligible. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and active Nursing Aide I credentials per state rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for new hires.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with activities of daily living.
• Assists with personal hygiene and mobility.
• Takes vital signs and basic measurements.
• Feeds and ambulates patients according to procedures.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms and equipment.
• Observes and reports changes in patient conditions.
• Orientates patients and families to the unit and safety practices.
• Performs clerical tasks and data entry as needed.
• Maintains inventory and supply items on the unit.
• Performs duties per Nurse Aide I scope of practice (state rules).
• Administers basic tasks such as 12-lead ECG and routine venipuncture.
