Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Senior Patient Access Representative to register patients for the Emergency Department and other areas, while supporting leadership by mentoring staff and coordinating QA tasks.

The role requires 2 years of customer service and healthcare experience, a high school diploma, and certification within six months. Proficiency in keyboarding and on-call duties are also expected.

Qualifications

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent is required.
• CHAA, CRCR, or CRCS certification required within six months of hire.
• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry experience.
• 2 years of healthcare environment experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in lieu of two years of experience.
• Proficiency in Keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for the Emergency Department and other registration areas.
• Mentor and train staff, participate in QA audits and prepare reviews.
• Serve as registration system super-user and on-call rotation lead.
• Support department leadership and participate in meetings and workgroups.
