Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center seeks a Pathologist Assistant to provide technical support for pathologists’ clinical and research activities. The role involves gross description, dissection, and a range of histology processes under experienced supervision.

Requirements include a BS in a Pathologist Assistant program (master’s preferred), 3+ years of specimen grossing experience, NYS PA license or eligibility, and ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science from Pathologist Assistant Program (Master’s preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience in specimen grossing.
• Excellent communication skills - including verbal, written and computer.
• ASCP Certification strongly preferred.
• New York State Pathologists Assistant License required (or obtained with 6 month of hire)
• New graduates from an accredited PA master’s program are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with gross description and dissection of surgical tissue under supervision of pathologists.
• Perform histology processes alongside tissue grossing, including tumor procurement, case setup, and gross imaging.
• Support mentoring/educating staff and perform other duties as assigned.
