Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Pathologist Assistant to provide technical support for Pathologists’ clinical and research activities in NYC. You will assist with gross description, dissection, histology processes, and tumor procurement.

The role requires a BS in Pathologist Assistant Program with 3+ years of specimen grossing experience, strong communication, and NY PA license eligibility within 6 months. MSK emphasizes quality, mentorship, and a collaborative oncology team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science from Pathologist Assistant Program (Master’s preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience in specimen grossing.
• Excellent communication skills - including verbal, written and computer.
• ASCP Certification strongly preferred.
• New York State Pathologists Assistant License required (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
• New graduates from an accredited PA master’s program are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist gross description and dissection of surgical tissue under Pathologists.
• Perform histology processes including tumor procurement and case setup.
• Mentor/educate staff and assist with frozen section tissue selection.
