Job summary

Antech Diagnostics is seeking a Parasitology Laboratory Technician 1 to perform laboratory analyses, prepare samples, set up instruments, run tests, read and release results. Position involves night shift from 11pm to 7:30am, Monday–Friday with alternating Saturdays, at our Orlando area lab.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; science degree or vet technician experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; science degree or vet technician experience preferred.
• Laboratory skills with experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments preferred.
• Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology, parasitology procedures, equipment, and familiarity with a microscope preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• General computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, runs, reads, and releases lab tests.
• Meet all minimum department requirements for Para and Giardia reading/releasing rates.
• Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results.
• Performs equipment maintenance activities.
• Awareness of quality control and calibration.
• Assists lead or supervisor with rechecks as directed.
• Follows SOPs, including safety and quality procedures.
• Maintains clean and organized work area.
• Restocks supplies.
• May be cross trained to perform other duties.
• Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex Parasitology tasks to learn through experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
