Job summary

Texas Health HEB in Bedford, TX is seeking a Paramedic (EMT-P) for our fast-paced Emergency Department. Night shift, full-time, 7p-7a, with weekends and holidays required.

You will work in a high-volume ED (100-200 patients/day), perform advanced clinical skills, administer medications, document thoroughly, and collaborate with physicians, RNs and respiratory therapy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship; 1 year EMS or Fire Dept preferred.
• EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or LP allowed.
• ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications required within specified timelines.
• CPI training (ED only) within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation.
• Administers IV fluids and medications with proper verification and monitoring.
• Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Maintains airway, ventilation, circulation, mobility and hygiene needs.
• Applies antiembolism devices and cervical collars as indicated.
• Performs ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access and other duties assigned by the care team.
