Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, Battle Creek, MI, is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Paper Department to lead safety, reliability, cost, quality and productivity in a 24/7 operation. This salaried-exempt role reports to the Operations Assistant Superintendent.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, preferably in a paper mill, with an engineering or paper science degree, and be proficient in Office tools and JD Edwards. Night shift, 4 on/4 off.

Qualifications

• 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Paper Mill experience preferred.
• Engineering or Paper Science degree preferred.
• Process Engineering experience a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PI Processbook, JD Edwards, etc.
• Fixed night shift; 12-hour schedule, 4 days on, 4 days off (7am–7pm).
• Safety mindset with strong policies and procedures.
• Ability to execute and manage tasks; drive results.
• Ability to adapt to change and pursue continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety, reliability, cost, quality, productivity and employee engagement in the Paper Department.
• Communicate with other departments and shifts to ensure 24/7 operations.
• Maintain current standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Drive cost optimization and sustain effective working relationships.
• Deliver manufacturing excellence and meet targets.
