Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital, part of Inova Health System, seeks an OR Services Leader to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. This full-time night-shift role includes 2x12 and 2x8 hour blocks, with relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

The leader will oversee OR operations, ensure high-quality perioperative care, and mentor staff while aligning with safety standards and Joint Commission requirements. Inova highlights strong patient outcomes, team wellness programs, and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing; ADN must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required on start; CNOR or equivalent specialty certification within 12 months.
• Licensed or eligible for Virginia RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Leads Operating Room services to ensure efficient unit operations and optimal patient outcomes.
• Delivery safe, high-quality, and cost-effective preoperative care.
• Serves as clinical leader, liaison, and resource for assigned surgical specialty/unit.
• Ensures compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
• Identifies and implements cost-effective strategies without compromising patient safety.
• Promotes innovation and continuous improvement in preoperative nursing practices.
• Coaches and mentors staff, supporting clinical decision-making and professional development.
• Utilizes AORN tools and best practices to drive high-quality surgical care delivery.
• Collaborates on emergency preparedness, training, and unit-specific drills.
