Job summary

ABB Optical Group in Hawthorne, NY seeks a Manufacturing-Optical Lab Technician for a Sun–Thu 9pm–6am shift. You will process lenses, mount frames, tint and inspect units, and ensure accurate labeling and packaging for shipment.

Role requires basic optical manufacturing exposure or entry-level training; strong focus on precision, safety, and SOP adherence. Overtime may be required; full-time status includes benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for full-time employment.
• No prior experience required for entry-level; training provided to enable employees to perform the minimum essential functions identified by their respective lab/department
• Proficient: Minimum six (6) months of optical manufacturing experience in same or similar position prior to skills assessment to determine ability to perform all applicable essential functions identified by their respective lab/department
• Ability to follow procedure and contribute as an individual and a team member

Responsibilities

• Operate tracing machine to measure frames and organize paperwork.
• Invoice and package finished jobs and ship to customers.
• Sort and receive frames, place in correct trays.
• Secure lenses in holding tools and prepare for finishing.
• Mount and edge lenses; tint as specified.
• Ensure safety, clean work area, and follow SOPs.
