Job summary

City of Hope in Duarte, CA seeks Clinical Nurses to join our Float Pool, providing care across units including Critical Care, PACU, ETC, BMT, and Hematology. This full-time role offers 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm start) across three shifts per week, with unit differential up to $5.50/hr, night differential up to $6.50/hr, and weekend differential up to $15.60/hr.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with CA license.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing required.
• 3+ years of related experience; oncology nursing preferred.
• BLS CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Monitor, assess, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment.
• Provide immediate post-anesthesia care, including airway management and pain control.
• Care for critically ill patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and ventilatory support.
• Assess oncology-related urgent conditions and manage them appropriately.
• Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and emergency interventions.
• Initiate and maintain central venous access devices.
• Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Document assessments and outcomes in the EMR; participate in rapid response events.
