Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring an Observation RN for night shifts (7p–7a) in a 6x12-hour schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Join a team focused on observing patients, guiding clinical decisions, and coordinating care to discharge or admit as appropriate. Requires Michigan RN license and an associate degree; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor's preferred).
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration and other treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor patients for 24–48 hours and determine disposition (observation vs. admission).
• Communicate patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, nutrition and mobility.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Educate patient/family based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
