Job summary

UP Health System Bell is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) in Med/Surg to provide safe, compassionate patient care on nights in a 0.9 FTE schedule with 12‑hour shifts. You will administer medications, monitor patient status, document care, and collaborate with the care team to coordinate transfers and discharges.

Required qualifications include Michigan RN license, an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred), current BLS‑HCP, ACLS and PALS within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Michigan RN license.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s degree preferred).
• BLS‑HCP certification.
• ACLS within 1 year.
• PALS within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living—hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education
