Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Observation Med Surg department at Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN. This full-time night-shift role focuses on clinical leadership, staff coordination, and delivering high-quality patient care.

You will coordinate staffing, oversee nursing teams, and ensure availability of materials and supplies. The position requires state RN licensure in Tennessee and BLS certification, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate unit staffing and lead nursing areas to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Direct, educate, and assign duties to nursing and support staff while securing necessary materials, resources, and supplies.
• Assess daily patient needs to create appropriate care assignments, optimize productivity, and adjust to shifting patient and physician dynamics.
• Exercise independent judgment to resolve patient care complaints through established organizational channels.
• Provide input regarding hiring, training, development, and performance evaluation of unit staff.
