Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse in the Observation unit to provide high-quality care for patients with acute respiratory conditions. You will perform rapid assessments, administer breathing treatments, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team for timely discharges, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• RN credential from the Tennessee Board of Nursing before hire
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
• 6 months of acute care nursing experience preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with acute respiratory conditions in an observation unit
• Manage a high turnover patient population with short stays and safe discharge
• Perform rapid clinical assessments and administer breathing treatments
• Monitor patients and ensure timely progress toward recovery
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan comprehensive discharge
