Job summary

Southshorehealth's SSH Orthopedics Emerson 5 unit in Weymouth, MA seeks a Full-time Nursing Assistant for night shifts. You will provide direct and supportive patient care under licensed staff, maintain safety, and document accurately using hospital systems.

BLS certification, basic medical terminology, and strong communication skills are required; high school diploma preferred. Responsibilities include observing patient status, reporting changes to RNs, and contributing to a culture of safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Basic medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care - provide direct/non-direct care under supervision of licensed personnel.
• Professional Development - maintain current knowledge/certification; act as a preceptor to new employees.
• Safety/Quality - uphold a Culture of Safety; verify patient identification and follow safety protocols.
• Technology - use department software and operate in downtime or outages.
• Compliance - follow policies, protect privacy and security of patient information.
• Patient and Family Center Care - show respect for patient/family preferences and involve them in planning care.
• Age & Culture - respect diverse patient populations and adapt as needed.
