Job summary

Penn Medicine seeks a Nursing Assistant to support nursing care on the unit. Assists nurses in delivering patient care, upholds patient dignity and comfort, and helps ensure efficient use of supplies and equipment in a professional, caring environment.

Schedule is 11:00pm–7:30am, 3 nights per week, every other weekend and holiday. Requires a High School diploma or GED and Basic Life Support (BLS); certification during orientation.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; training during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurses in delivering nursing care and supports patient dignity.
• Makes observations of patient condition and documents information.
• Performs and documents nursing care activities as assigned.
• Demonstrates knowledge specific to nursing assistant duties (e.g. hygiene, vital signs).
• Keeps unit clean and organized and reports equipment issues.
