Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time night shift (7pm–7am) in the Oncology unit. 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays. 36 hours per week with a 7pm to 7am schedule, working under RN supervision in patient care and unit operations.

The role emphasizes direct patient support, accurate documentation in EMR, and adherence to infection prevention and safety policies. Entry-level permissible with required certifications in progress.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum; annual education requirements for hospital-based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding and mobility.
• Record vital signs and input data into EMR accurately.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and prepare for testing as required.
• Handle errands, stock nursing area, clean equipment and work areas.
• Assist with patient positioning and nutrition-related tasks.
• Maintain skin integrity and ensure supplies are available.
