Job summary

Advocate Condell Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool. The role involves assisting RNs with patient care during night shifts (6:30 pm to 7:00 am) and rotating weekends/holidays. Requires a high school diploma or GED/HSED and Basic Life Support within 45 days.

Responsibilities include patient care, vital signs, documentation in EMR, and equipment/stock management. The position includes comprehensive benefits and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, or GED/HSED.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs, I&O, daily weights, and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties using proper technique and assistive devices.
• Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
