Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota, is seeking a Night Shift Nursing Assistant for the Medical Unit to deliver direct patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, vital signs, and ensure a safe, clean environment aligned with Joint Commission standards.

The role is part-time (0.6 FTE) with a permanent night rotation (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend, and a schedule that supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the following requirements: 6 months of patient care experience; completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program; successful completion of an Essentia Health Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire; verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program; current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal hygiene care and assisting with nutritional needs.
• Providing comfort care and other assistance.
• Transferring patients safely and appropriately.
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping.
• Reporting changes in patient condition to the RN promptly.
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patient healing.
