Job summary

UPMC Carlisle is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Acute Cardiac & Neuro Unit. This is a full-time night shift position (36 hours per week year round) with every other weekend and every other holiday required.

The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the direction of the RN, performs ADLs, assists with documentation, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and respectful care environment. Strong communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team is essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs ADLs: bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning patients.
• Completes medical record documentation per procedures.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate departments.
• Responds to call lights and assists with meal trays and patient transport.
• Maintains patient safety and cleanliness of rooms and department.
• Provides patient/family education under RN direction.
• Assists with point-of-care testing and vital signs as directed.
