Job summary

Stony Brook University’s Long Island State Veterans Home is seeking a Nurse Supervisor for the part-time night shift. The role involves coordinating and supervising resident care across the shift, working with nursing leadership and other departments to ensure quality care and appropriate resources.

Weekend and holiday coverage is required on a rotating basis. Required qualifications include NYS RN license, an AAS degree, and at least two years of supervisory experience in a health care setting;

Qualifications

• NYS Registered Nurse License.
• Clinical practice experience working with an adult/aging population in a clinical setting.
• AAS degree.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in developing a reporting system across staff levels.
• Collaborate with Nurse/Managers to supervise staff on the assigned shift.
• Supervise and evaluate resident care needs; ensure adequate staff, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure rights of each resident are protected and promoted.
