Job summary

The Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, is seeking an experienced RN to serve as Night Nurse Supervisor, overseeing patient care on the 11 PM–7 AM shift and ensuring safe, effective nursing operations.

The role requires strong leadership, supervisory experience, and a Massachusetts RN license; responsibilities include staffing, overtime management, emergency response, and ensuring staff training.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) RN experience in a hospital/clinic.
• At least one year in a supervisory/administrative/mana-gerial capacity.
• Current and valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and performance improvement.
• CPR and advanced life-saving skills proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise evening shift staff and assist with performance reviews.
• Act as liaison for hospital services and external agencies.
• Attend administrative meetings and relay updates to staff.
• Manage staffing, authorize overtime, and oversee fiscal reporting.
• Ensure staff participation in educational programs.
• Address emergencies, admissions, records, equipment needs and supply issues.
• Oversee IV/Phlebotomy and maintain patient advocacy.
• Lead Code Blue/RRTs and ensure proper documentation.
• Apply bargaining unit staffing policies as required.
