Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool at two campuses in Illinois. This part-time days position requires strong clinical skills and teamwork to coordinate inpatient nursing care.
Responsibilities include assessment, planning, and collaboration with the care team; adherence to ANA standards and evidence-based practice. Includes potential for growth in specialty areas with required certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
Responsibilities
- Administers and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
- Interacts with patients, families, and health team members per ANA standards.
- Collects data, develops plans, and evaluates outcomes against goals.
- Directs care and utilizes nursing staff appropriately.
- Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and other staff; documents plans and progress.
- Participates in governance, committee work, and unit projects.
- Documents patient responses and individualizes care plans based on findings.
- Uses evidence to guide clinical practice.
