NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Nurse Aide for the Surgical Step Down Unit on the Night shift. Under RN supervision, you will provide basic nursing care, assist with daily living activities, and ensure patient comfort and safety.

You will help prepare rooms and equipment for procedures and participate in staff orientations. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to safety, and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training required.
• Ability to read and write at an elementary level to understand care plans.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic for weight and vital signs.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.

Responsabilités

• Deliver basic nursing care under RN supervision.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and relay needs to nursing staff.
• Observation and reporting of changes in patient condition.
• Assist with activities of daily living and nourishment tasks.
• Maintain clean, safe patient rooms and assist with equipment preparation.
• Participate in ongoing education and staff meetings.
