NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Suffolk, NY, invites applications for a Nurse Aide in the Surgical Step Down Unit, full time, night shift. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you perform routine nursing duties to support patient comfort and safety while keeping rooms clean and organized.

You will assist with room and equipment prep for procedures, participate in new-employee orientation, and respond promptly to patient needs.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training.
• Ability to read and write at an elementary school level to understand the plan of care and record data.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic for weight, vitals and intake/output.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families across diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.

• Deliver basic nursing care to meet patient comfort and safety needs.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and relay information to nursing staff.
• Observe patient condition and report changes to the nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and feeding as needed.
