Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, BLS, and de-escalation training, plus the ability to multitask in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS (AHA) certification and first aid training.
• De-escalation training provided on the job.
• Ability to read and write at elementary level to understand the care plan and document data.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for weight, vital signs, and intake/output.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic nursing care to meet patient needs.
• Respond promptly to call lights and communicate needs to nursing staff.
• Observe patients and report changes in condition promptly.
• Assist with activities of daily living: nourishment, ambulation, hygiene, toileting.
• Provide direct nursing care and assist with monitoring, measurements, and care routines as per policy.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment and prepare equipment for central service.
• Identify patients before care and monitor safety; participate in rounds and ensure proper body mechanics.
• Contribute to Falls Prevention and adapt care during workload changes.
• Collaborate with unit staff and management to improve patient care environment.
• Attend education programs to maintain competency and participate in staff meetings.
