Qualifications

  • BSN required within 3 years of ANM appointment (if not already obtained).
  • Current DC RN license.
  • 2+ years NICU/perinatal experience preferred.
  • NRP and BLS certifications required.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite night shift leadership for Level III NICU and Transitional Nursery.
  • Align staffing to acuity, census, and high-risk delivery volume.
  • Coach and mentor nursing staff; participate in evaluations.
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of neonatal staff.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and evidence-based neonatal care.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, OB, respiratory therapy, and lactation.
  • Address operational/clinical issues impacting safe neonatal care.
  • Report significant events and family concerns promptly.
