Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital is seeking a highly skilled RN to provide direct care in the Level III NICU. You will care for critically ill newborns, monitor vitals, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Virginia RN license or Multistate Compact license.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
• NRP Certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• PALS Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care to critically ill newborns requiring specialized care.
• Work with multidisciplinary team to monitor vital signs and feeding; administer standard medications and perform tests.
• Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor and communicate patient conditions.
• Educate infant caregivers and coordinate discharge planning with the care team.
• Maintain cultural awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
