Job summary

Frederick Health seeks an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a full-time Charge Nurse role in the NICU. You will work three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with weekend and holiday coverage.

You will lead, coordinate, and teach staff, ensure quality patient care, participate in performance improvement, and collaborate with physicians and nursing teams to uphold professional standards.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a registered nurse in Maryland.
• BSN preferred or agreement with degree within 5 years.
• CPR and/or other appropriate certifications.
• NICU experience required (minimum 3 years level III/IV).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Lead unit huddles, briefs, and de-briefs each shift.
• Mentor and evaluate staff; manage scheduling with unit manager.
• Support patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
• Participate in department PI activities and evidence-based practice.

Education

Maryland RN license

BSN or enrolled toward BSN (within 5 years)

CPR/NRP/STABLE certifications
