Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse for the St. Mary’s Hospital Neuro Step Down Unit during the night shift. The role emphasizes leading patient assessments, coordinating care, and implementing treatment plans to improve outcomes.

Essential functions include collaborating with the care team, prioritizing patient needs, and ensuring safety. RN licensure and BLS/ACLS are required or attainable within hire terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures
