Job summary

Bon Secours Health System is seeking a Progressive Care (Step Down) Registered Nurse (RN) at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. The role focuses on delivering exceptional nursing care with strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and coordinate care across departments.

Required: 1 year RN experience and current RN license; BLS/ACLS required or procured within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience is required.
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required; BLS/ACLS as noted (ACLS within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment; create and evaluate care plans.
• Serve as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
• Act as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement in the department.
• Administer medications in a safe manner per state practice and policy.

Education

Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) (preferred, not required)
