Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Technician III for the night shift at our La Mirada, CA corrugated packaging facility. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical control systems and PLCs, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to maximize uptime.

You will document work in CMMS, work with a Reliability Team, and support safety and efficiency initiatives while covering weekend/overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical control circuits and 3-phase motor systems (12 VDC to 480 VAC).
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Experience using precision maintenance tools (transfer punches, feeler gauges, calipers, belt tension, sheave alignment).
• Experience repairing mechanical systems (chain/belt drives, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, welding/fabrication).
• Experience troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic power transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment by following all safety and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to troubleshoot issues and prevent repeat failures.
• Perform routine PMs to support equipment reliability.
• Respond to downtime with timely troubleshooting and repairs.
• Document work, parts used, and equipment history in the CMMS.
• Apply knowledge of electrical, control systems, and mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
