Job summary

UPMC in Hanover is hiring a Full-time, General Maintenance 2 (Night Shift) to support the hospital. You’ll work Sunday-Wednesday nights, bring your hand tools, and contribute to multiple trades as needed.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, basic electrical/plumbing/carpentry tasks, logging work, and ensuring safety and infection control. Prior maintenance experience and a high school diploma are required; healthcare experience is a plus. Benefits are excellent and team-friendly.

Qualifications

Completion of high school diploma/GED.
2 years general maintenance-related work experience.
Healthcare experience preferred.
Completion of a Trade School program preferred.
Military experience considered.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance work and tasks with minimal supervision.
Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
Basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry/hardware, mechanical systems.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and logs.
Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems.
Operate and maintain building's direct digital control (DDC) systems.
Order materials as needed.
Follow infection control procedures.
Minor carpentry and painting work.
Record work orders and submit hours daily.
Minor repairs and maintenance of plumbing fixtures/leaks.
General cleaning of equipment and mechanical areas.
Snow removal and adverse weather duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
