Job summary

MercyOne Health System's Mercy Medical Center Des Moines is seeking an experienced RN to provide individualized nursing care in the Mother Baby Unit on the East Tower, 2nd floor. The unit has 40 private rooms for high-risk and low-risk postpartum patients, a newborn nursery, and a collaborative care team with physicians.

You will work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, delivering care under the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Iowa RN license.
• Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training completed within 3 months of hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care for patients of all ages.
• Maintains patient comfort and safe handling practices.
• Guides and directs other staff in patient care activities.
