Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Night Shift Monitor Tech at the Burnet Campus. You will observe cardio-respiratory and video monitors, detect changes from baseline, and report to caregivers to ensure timely response. This role requires attention to detail and collaboration with the care team.

You will follow CARES behaviors, communicate critical events clearly, and maintain regulatory compliance, patient safety, and documentation accuracy in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Related hospital experience
• Listing on the State of OH State Tested Nurse's Aide (STNA) registry OR is an or has been an EMT or Paramedic
• Completion of required Cincinnati Children's orientation AND Requires training in CPR and maintenance of certification
• Completion of the Cincinnati Children's Monitor Tech Class AND a passing score on the written exam and competency demonstration.
• Listed on Ohio STNA registry OR Ohio CNA; reciprocity within 180 days if CNA is in another state
• Preferred: Basic EKG interpretation skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor Observation - observes and recognizes actionable conditions on cardio-respiratory and video monitors, reports changes to caregiver, ensures timely caregiver response to alarm situations, documents alarm settings according to age specs or RN order.
• Customer Service - demonstrates CARES behaviors and engages with patients and families.
• Communication - communicates significant events to RN/RT, keeps station open during emergencies, uses SBAR for handoffs, and relays messages in a timely manner.
• Compliance - maintains HIPAA compliance and safety policies, ensures certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled.
