Job Responsibilities
- Monitor Observation – Continuously observe and accurately recognize actionable conditions, reliably detect changes from patient baseline and observation, and report the changes to caregiver. Utilize the algorithm in response to monitor interpretation and document change and action taken per guidelines.
- Communication – Promptly and effectively communicate actionable conditions or impending safety risks to RN/RT and provide a clear and concise hand‑off to peers during shift changes.
- Patient Care – Perform patient care interventions as delegated by RN/RN, assist with patient transport, assist with room set‑up for admissions and room break‑down for discharges, maintain adequate supplies in PPE cabinets and nurse servers, and maintain a clean and organized environment following relevant guidelines. Monitor patients via live video feed and physiologic waveforms, follow the algorithm to notify staff of urgent/emergent situations, and provide direct patient care as delegated by the nurse.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent AND NLN or CCNE accredited nursing program student.
- Completion of a medical/surgical or equivalent clinical rotation, or listed on the Ohio STNA registry, Ohio CNA (with reciprocity within 180 days if out of state), or listed on the Ohio Emergency Medical Services Registry.
- Completion of required Cincinnati Children’s orientation, CPR training, and maintenance of certification.
- Completion of the CCHMC provided Monitor Tech Class and a passing score on a written exam and competency demonstration.
