Job summary

The Saint Joseph Mercy Health System MICU in Ann Arbor seeks a full-time Registered Nurse to join a 20-bed unit serving adult cardiac and medical/surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Licensure as an RN in Michigan and BLS are required; ACLS for specific departments. BSN preferred, with a policy to obtain BSN within five years of hire.

Shifts are 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with full-time and every-other-weekend/holiday schedules; benefits start Day One and include tuition reimbursement,

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license; BLS; ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with eligibility to sit NCLEX; BSN preferred.
• Effective Jan 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN or commit to obtaining BSN within five years.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information.
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care.
• Uses teach-back methodology to educate patient and family.
• Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital-acquired conditions.
• Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs.
• Follows all HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals.
