Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Lab Associate I to support microbiology operations on a Tue-Sat night shift. This non-licensed role assists with sample prep, labeling, and pre-analytic testing, following all lab policies and safety rules.

The position offers hourly pay starting at $17.20 with differential raises for weekend and night hours, plus eligibility for annual bonuses and a comprehensive benefits program. A high school diploma and basic lab familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of operating non-complex equipment.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred.
• A working knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
• An awareness of the factors that influence test results.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Prepares and organizes samples for testing, e.g., sample racking, aliquoting and tube preparation.
• Labels, handles, processes or prepares, and transports and stores specimens.
• Identifies sample problems and assists in resolving them.
• Prepares testing equipment and assists with preventive maintenance.
• Performs data entry and transcribes data for data reduction and prepares for review.
• Maintains inventory of consumables and prepares records of reagents and media.
