Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join the Microbiology team on a rotating schedule (3:00 pm to 1:30 am). The role offers a starting pay around $28.00 per hour with shift differentials for evening and overnight hours.

You will perform specimen analyses, maintain records, and ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and safety guidelines. A BS in Medical Technology or related science is preferred, with a minimum of one year of clinical

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in Laboratory Science.
• 1 year clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
• MLS/Medical Laboratory Scientist qualifications or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling and testing, and maintain patient test records.
• Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow policies when test systems are out of performance ranges.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and report to senior staff.
