Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. in Devens, MA is seeking a Metallographic Lab Technician to prepare metallic samples for engineering evaluation and qualification. The role involves metallography, microscopy, and reporting results to multiple teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

The shift runs Monday through Friday, 11:00pm – 7:30am. Candidates should have 3+ years in a lab, with Metallography or Materials Science background, and a strong focus on safety and precision.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience in Metallography, Metallurgy, or Materials Science.
• Attention to safety protocols and day-to-day accuracy.
• Ability to visualize 3D objects and work with microscopes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine metallographic preparations: sectioning, grinding, polishing, etching, imaging.
• Organize and maintain lab equipment and space with preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with Engineering to provide results for projects.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
