Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. is seeking a Metallographic Lab Technician in Devens, MA to prepare metallic samples for engineering evaluation and part process qualification.

The role involves metallography and reporting results to Materials and Process Engineering teams in an industrial setting with acids and moving parts. The position requires 3+ years in a lab, strict adherence to safety, and the ability to work with color sensitivity through microscopes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Experience in Metallography, Metallurgy, or Material Sciences.
• Ability to see and recognize the full color spectrum through a microscope.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine metallographic preparations, including sectioning, grinding, polishing, etching, and imaging samples for analysis and reporting.
• Organize and maintain lab equipment, supplies, and space through preventative maintenance, inspections, and cleaning.
• Directly interact with Engineering team members to provide results and lab support for varied projects.
• Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with all safety protocols and actively foster a safe work environment.
