Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. in Devens, MA seeks a Metallographic Lab Technician to prepare metallic samples for engineering evaluation and process qualification. The role supports Materials and Process Engineering with metallography results in an industrial setting.

The position requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and safety‑conscious work practices. Shift is Monday–Friday nights, 11:00 pm–7:30 am, with growth potential in a fast‑paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience in Metallography, Metallurgy, or Materials Science.
• Attention to detail and safety protocol compliance.
• Ability to interpret results and report findings.
• Comfort with moving mechanical parts and handling chemicals.
• Willingness to work night shift 11:00 pm–7:30 am.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine metallographic preparations (sectioning, grinding, polishing, etching, imaging).
• Organize and maintain lab equipment, supplies, and space via maintenance and cleaning.
• Interact with Engineering to provide results and lab support for projects.
• Comply with company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Uphold safety protocols and foster a safe work environment.
