Job summary

The Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, KY is hiring a Mental Health Technician for full-time and part-time roles (36 hours/week) with 7pm–7am shifts and every-other weekend. The technician will support care for patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders, under supervision, and participate in group activities and crisis interventions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, some college coursework, and strong communication skills with a trauma-informed approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
• Must demonstrate basic knowledge of emotional and mental health concepts including addiction.
• Clear communication and ability to facilitate psycho-education groups.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates group activities tailored to topic, age, and comprehension as approved by Program Coordinator.
• Ensures patients are monitored and remain in the proper location during activities.
• Provides crisis intervention and utilizes de-escalation techniques to diffuse safety concerns.
