Job summary

Pathways Center’s Care Campus in Newnan, GA seeks a Licensed Counselor for 24/7 crisis stabilization. The role supports adults and youth, conducts BH assessments, and provides individual and group therapy to stabilize mental health crises and plan long-term recovery.

Collaboration with EMS and multi-disciplinary teams is essential for timely care. Master’s degree in social work or counseling and licensure eligibility in Georgia are required, with two years of supervised experience or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and eligibility to be licensed in Georgia within six months of employment as an LAPC, LMSW, or LAMFT.
• Two years of supervised experience in the area of assignment or two years at the lower level Social Worker.

Responsibilities

• Provides psychosocial and therapeutic support to patients/clients in crisis and/or detoxification.
• Completes Behavioral Health Assessments (BHA’s) as part of intake within required timeframes.
• Conducts clinical interviews and develops diagnostic impressions based on assessment.
• Leads individual and group discussions to promote recovery and transition to community.
• Develops treatment plans with input from the treatment team.
• Provides professional level therapeutic services to persons with mental illness and/or addictive disease.
• Works with EMS personnel in Coweta CARES to stabilize crisis calls.
• Performs risk assessment and crisis intervention.
• Manages admission processes and communicates with referral sources, families, patients, and the care team.
• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records.
