Job summary

Pathways Center’s Care Campus in Newnan, GA, seeks a Mental Health Crisis Counselor to provide psychosocial support and crisis intervention on a 24/7 basis. The role includes conducting BHAs, clinical interviews, and developing individualized treatment plans with the care team.

You will collaborate with EMS in the Coweta CARES program, coordinate admissions, and ensure timely, quality care while aligning with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work and counseling from an accredited college or university and eligibility to be licensed and two (2) years of supervised experience in the area of assignment or two years of experience at the lower level Social Worker, Licensed 1 (HCP050) or position equivalent.
• Eligibility to be licensed in the State of Georgia within six months of employment as an LAPC, LMSW, or LAMFT.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients/clients with the psychosocial and therapeutic support needed to cope with behavioral health crisis and/or detoxification.
• Completes Behavioral Health Assessments (BHA's) as part of the intake process within required timeframes.
• Conducts clinical interviews with residents and makes a diagnostic impression based on clinical assessment.
• Develops treatment plans collaboratively with the patient/client and input from the treatment team.
• Provides individual therapy and may conduct family sessions as needed to help transition back into the community.
• Works alongside EMS personnel in the Coweta CARES program and facilitates admission processes.
• Performs risk assessment and crisis intervention.
• Maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and the Care Campus healthcare team.
