Job summary

Pathways Center, in partnership with Coweta County’s Coweta CARES program, seeks a licensed counselor to provide crisis-focused behavioral health services. You will perform BHAs, conduct clinical interviews, and develop treatment plans with a collaborative care team that includes paramedics and EMS personnel.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in social work or counseling and Georgia licensure eligibility within six months (LPC/LCSW/LMFT).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Licensure in the area of assignment and two years of related post-license experience.
• LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license in Georgia or eligibility to be licensed within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial and therapeutic support during mental health crisis.
• Complete Behavioral Health Assessments (BHA) within required timeframes.
• Develop treatment plans with patient input and treatment team.
• Provide professional level therapy for mental illness and/or addiction.
• Collaborate with EMS personnel in the Coweta CARES program.
• Conduct risk assessment and crisis intervention; facilitate admission process.

Coweta CARES is a unique para-medicine program that is designed to address mental health and substance abuse crisis calls made to 911. Coweta CARES is a team of licensed counselors and paramedics who work collaboratively to stabilize individuals who are experiencing behavioral health crises. The goal is to reduce unnecessary hospitalization, emergency department presentations, and jail incarcerations.The Licensed Counselor works to ensure quality care is provided and to ensure compliance with regulatory and governing service guidelines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Provides patients/clients with the psychosocial and therapeutic support needed to cope with mental health crisis and/or detoxificationCompletes Behavioral Health Assessments (BHA's) as a part of the intake process within the required timeframes.
