Job summary

Pathways Center is seeking a Mental Health Crisis Counselor to provide psychosocial support and crisis interventions on our Care Campus in Newnan, GA. The role involves conducting assessments, clinical interviews, and group/family sessions to promote recovery, with a focus on rapid stabilization and discharge planning across diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in clinical mental health counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy.
• Licensed in Georgia as LPC, LCSW, or LMFT or license-eligible with supervised experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients/clients with psychosocial and therapeutic support to cope with behavioral health crisis and detoxification.
• Completes Behavioral Health Assessments as part of intake within required timeframes.
• Conducts clinical interviews and makes diagnostic impressions based on assessment.
• Works with healthcare team to prepare for and facilitate individual and group discussions to promote recovery.
• Provides individual therapy and may conduct family sessions to facilitate transition back to the community.
• Develops treatment plans collaboratively with patient and treatment team input.
• Provides professional level therapeutic services to persons with mental illness and/or addictive disease.
• Works alongside EMS personnel in Coweta CARES program.
• Provides risk assessment and crisis intervention; facilitates admission and maintains communication with referral sources and care team.
• Must be proficient in use of technology with respect to EMR.
