Job summary

Summit Oaks Hospital, a 126-bed private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center, seeks a Mental Health Associate (MHA) to join the treatment team. The role includes patient care, supervision, and education across age ranges from preschool to geriatrics, on a night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) with alternating weekends.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, conducting educational groups, and responding to codes while supporting multiple units such as adult, dual diagnosis,

Qualifications

• B.S. in health-related field with 1 year of psychiatric experience or 2 years in a psychiatric setting with continuing education in mental health.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications provided by the Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Active part of the treatment team providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling and monitoring patients.
• Take vital signs and conduct educational groups.
• Respond to codes and support nursing units as assigned.

Education

B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting; or two years of experience in a psychiatric setting with evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health preferred.
