Job summary

Universal Health Services' Summit Oaks Hospital in Summit, NJ is seeking a Mental Health Associate (MHA) to join its treatment team. The role provides continuous patient care, supervision, and education for patients from preschool to geriatrics across multiple units, including adult and child/adolescent services.

The MHA works the full-time night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am) with rotating weekends, performing vital signs, group education, and responding to codes as part of a collaborative care model.

Qualifications

• B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience preferred.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care certifications required or provided by the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care and supervision as part of the treatment team.
• Interact with and monitor patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics.
• Take vital signs, conduct educational groups and respond to codes as needed.
