Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a part-time Medical Technologist to join the IL Central Lab on the 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.

The role is 28 hours per week and requires performing and evaluating laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, and assisting in instrument maintenance in a fast-paced clinical setting. Requires MT/MLS certification within 1 year or AMT/MT certification, and a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and follows reporting policies.
• Performs calibration, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment.
• Performs quality control and QA for improvement according to protocol.
• Ensures proper labeling and collection of specimens from patients of all ages.
• Provides direction and training to staff and students.
